Lauren is a first-year, part-time Ph.D. student with a focus in health policy. She continues to work full-time for LMI, a non-for-profit consulting firm based in Tysons, VA, on contracts with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the U.S Department of Agriculture, and the U.S. Postal Service. Examples of her work including responding to avian influenza outbreaks in 2014, 2015, and 2016; working with States to plan and prepare for other foreign animal diseases; participating in the transition of new Medicare card numbers from Social Security Numbers; and managing various projects within USPS for high-level executives. Lauren holds a master’s degree in public health with a veterinary concentration from the University of Missouri and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, where she majored in biology. She was born and raised all over the Midwest, but is happy to now call Baltimore home, where she can get her fill of crabs, beer, and football when she’s not at the gym.
