The Institute for Public Leadership at the School of Public Policy has named six new senior fellows, whose work continues to strengthen IPL’s mission of advancing inclusive and effective public leadership. The newly appointed IPL senior fellows are Meg Brindle, Niambi Carter, Shanna Pearson-Merkowitz, Namrta Sharma, Michael Woldemariam and Alec Worsnop.
The fellows bring expertise in public management, nonprofit leadership, international security and governance. Their experience in academia, government and public-facing institutions will strengthen IPL’s focus on research that informs leadership in complex policy settings.
“Our incoming senior fellows continue our commitment to incorporating faculty who collectively demonstrate that public leadership extends to many areas of expertise and is impactful from the local to global levels,” said IPL Research Director Cullen Merritt.
As senior fellows, their contributions will drive impactful research initiatives and expand the boundaries of public leadership. The fellows will also support students involved in leadership-focused research and experiential learning initiatives, including the Thurgood Marshall Research Fellowship Program, which supports undergraduate and graduate students interested in public leadership.
By bringing together scholars and practitioners with various perspectives and experiences, IPL seeks to broaden how leadership is understood, taught and practiced.
“Our senior fellows are brilliant and compassionate leaders who are positively shaping work in the School of Public Policy, scholarship in their academic disciplines and people in their communities.”
