Jay Fuhrman is an earth scientist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and University of Maryland’s Joint Global Change Research Institute. His research focuses on carbon management technology assessment including geologic carbon storage and carbon dioxide removal and utilization. He uses coupled energy-climate models to understand pathways to achieving net-zero emissions. His work has been published in journals including Nature Climate Change and has been reported on by media outlets such as the BBC.
Fuhrman holds a PhD in civil and environmental engineering, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, both from the University of Virginia.
